Home from Cruise

Glad to be home. The cruise was not quite what we expected it to be. We got into Tampa Sunday afternoon and got a hotel room. The hotel room was very nice. - room service sucked. Monday, we went to the ship and had a fine day. We couldn't get into our room until around 2. But our luggage wasn't in our room until around 6, so we couldn't change into our bathing suits and enjoy the sun. We should have worn our bathing suits under our clothing. We didn't know that. Now we do.

Anyway, there were quite a few schools that had Spring Break that week, so the pool was crowded every day. We never got the chance to lay out at the pool and tan. We could never find a seat. Even if we could, there was no room in the pool. Suprisingly, the pool was pretty small. The most anyone did was sit around the pool and put their feet in. The jacuzzis were always crowded, so we didn't do that either. Not a lot of fun there.

Wednesday, we got to our first port of call. Costa Maya was pretty nice. We wish now that we would have done more shopping there because Bob got sick that night and we were unable to go into Cozumel. I really wanted to do the excursion we had planned for Cozumel. That sucked. The worst part was that they not only quarantined Hubby, they quarantined me too. We were stuck in our room for 24 hours. So neither of us could get off the ship. About half the ship had the same problem.

I don't know what it was, but it was pretty bad. I started feeling terrible Saturday after we got home. I haven't been to work all week. I was really disappointed not to go to Cozumel, but it wasn't Hubby's fault. I felt queasiness from the "motion of the ocean" which really surprised me. I never get car sick or motion sickness. I felt pretty bad quite a bit during the cruise though.

Since we weren't able to get off the ship at our last port of call, we didn't get hardly any of the souvenirs or gifts we wanted to get for people or ourselves. Thankfully, the cruise reimbursed us for the excursions we didn't get to enjoy and even for Hubby's when we were at Costa Maya.

I went to the doctor yesterday about my symptoms. She said that it doesn't seem anything serious and is probably just a bug. She said it was a good sign that Hubby has already gotten well. I feel a little better today, but I'm still struggling with a fever and a little bit of queasiness.

Hubby and I were thinking that we are probably not boat people, but we'll have to take one more to find out if it was the circumstances of this cruise or just not the type of vacation for us. I never thought I'd say this, but I'm glad the cruise is over and we are home. We were glad to get off the ship. Next time we go, it will not be Spring Break.
