Good things about Cruise

The cruise wasn't all bad. The first thing we did on the cruise was drink a Pina Colada. That was great. Made you feel right away like you were on vacation. We saw all but one of the shows onboard. They were all amazing. This one black guy sang "Phantom of the Opera" better than I have heard sung at the actual opera. He was amazing and had an amazing voice.

One of the shows was a past gold medal gymnast who did tricks on the silks that Cirque de Sole uses. He was GREAT! and hilarious. Absolutely amazing.

While we were in Costa Maya, we went to the town of Limon and saw a Mayan ruin (supposedly the oldest one in the area). It was unreal. Sadly, they only let us spend about 10 minutes at the ruin. From there, we went to the home of one of the Mayan people. They didn't even have electricity until just a few years ago. While at this house, I chewed a piece of chikle gum (the authentic chicklet with no sugar, no preservatives, no flavor). It was interesting. It really had no flavor. It tasted like a piece of gum after you've chewed it for a while. It wasn't bad. I chewed it for about an hour or so.

Hubby loved the buffet. They had all these different foods that hit his taste buds perfectly. I'm not an adventurous eater, so I didn't get as much enjoyment, but the desserts were pretty good, even the sugar-free ones. What a shock.

We watched the "belly flop" contest onboard. That was fun. We also enjoyed the "Married Couples" game. It was hilarious. It was like the Newlywed game. When this old man, married 57 years, was asked what size bra he would get his wife, he said "a strong 31 L". HILARIOUS! It was a lot of fun.

Each day, there was a different drink of the day both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Each day - except the day we were quarantined, we had the drink of the day (alcoholic version). They were great. I think the Mango Tango was my favorite. I couldn't tell what was in it besides mango and rum. It had the consistency and creaminess of a colada. It was the best.

We didn't want to blow a lot of money in the casino, so we went in one night and played $40. Had we known that we wouldn't be buying souvenirs, we probably would have played more, but oh well.

Looking forward to going again and hopefully not getting sick or stuck on board while we're in port.
